With support and funding from the Arts Council of Wales, De Montfort University and Senzala UK, I will be collaborating on a project that will look at heritage and culture from two very different nations, Wales and Brazil. The project explores communication and how we can share our culture with others. How do we identify where we belong through our culture and and how can we use this to show others who we are and where we come from?

I'm very excited to work with some amazing collaborators from right across the globe and also just up my road!!

This project is the beginnings of the realisation of research and ideas between myself and Ruan de Vargas a musician from Rio de Janeiro. We began collaborating together in 2011 via video-link, exploring communication via the internet through a project titled Perguntas & Atebion (Questions and Answers). In July and August 2011 I travelled to Rio and spent a period of time working together with Ruan and also Pedro Reis developing ideas we had begun to explore via the video link (See Blog for Brazil for excerpts of our process). In February 2012 Ruan, Pedro and Feinho will travel to Wales to collaborate with myself, harpist and dancer Ceri Rimmer, Capoeirista and dancer Will Thorburn and Welsh Folkband Brigyn. During this time we will share experiences and ideas to form the beginnings of a project that will be realised towards the end of the year. We will present our work in progress at De Montfort University's Cultural Exchanges Festival
